    Description

    Working Stanley No. 48 SWING FENCE TOUNGE & GROOVE PLANE with Cherry Knob. Ive been using this for a couple years now. It was originally super rusty with minimal nickel plating, no knob and no blades. I restored it two years ago, painting the body, polishing the parts, making a new cherry knob, and adding reproduction blades from St.James tools bay. It works well, that said off the cuff this plane makes TIGHT t&g joints, I usually come in with a rabbit plane to take a few passes so the joint is snug, but not to tight. With a nice file and a good eye you could file the plane to make it perfect, but Ive never found that necessary since Ive got a rabbit plane to. Always a fun plane to use. The elm/oak boards in the picture were done today, and fits like a glove. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS First Class.
