Beautiful and complete, A Vintage Stanley Bailey No 5 jack plane. It is approx 14 inches long with a blade width of 2 inches.
It appears to be a type 16 manufactured between 1936 to 1940, approx 85 years ago.
Except for the lightly etched owners mark on the left side there are no apologies for this fine tool. Metal bed and all other metal parts are excellent, no cracks breaks, or repairs. Black jappaning finish is great, well over 95%.
The premium rosewood handles are beautiful, no cracks, splits, chips or repairs.
The blade is original and correct to the plane, nearly full length and freshly sharpened with the correct 25 degree bevel
This plane has the important frog adjustment screw and All adjustments move and work smoothly. Will make a great user or collector.
