Description

A beautiful, Vintage Stanley Bailey No 5 jack plane. It is approx 14 inches long with a blade width of 2 inches.
It is a type 18. Black Hardwood handles and diagonal knurrling on the brass depth adjustment nut. This type 18 plane was Manufactured for just 2 years, 1947 and 1948 making this fine plane almost 75 years old.
Metal bed and all other metal parts are fine, no cracks breaks, or pitting. The original black jappaning finish is great more than 95%. No apologies, This plane is in awesome nice condition and will made a fine user or collectible.
The hardwood handles are beautiful, no cracks, splits, breaks or repairs.
The original blade is nearly full length and has been freshly sharpened with a proper 25 degree bevel.
The plane has the important frog adjustment screw and all adjustments move and work smoothly. Will make a great user or collectible.
