Vintage Craftsman 4C BB Hand Plane made by Millers Falls - Excellent Condition

A very clean example of a Millers Falls Craftsman 4
C BB, in excellent original condition.
During the 1930's Millers Falls began contract manufacturing premium Craftsman-branded planes for Sears at their factory in Greenfield Massachusetts. Today these Craftsman planes are sought after by collectors since were produced largely to the same design and quality standards, but without the hinged lever cap and frog-adjustment screw that differentiates the Millers Falls versions.
Craftsman 4C BB is equivalent to the Millers Falls no. 9, type 2 or type 3 and made between 1936 and 1949.  The lever cap, chip breaker and blade are nickel-plated, rust free and show normal, light surface pitting from age.  The blade has been sharpened and honed to a razors edge.  Original hardwood handle has a few scratches on the factory finish and the tote has the the original "Warranted Highest Quality" decal which is fully intact.  The cast iron body is clean, with no rust or cracks.  Japanning is 99% intact.
Vintage MF Craftsman planes in this condition are getting tougher to find.  This one w
ould make a perfect user or collector.
