Sweetheart Stanley No. 84 BOXWOOD Razor Edge Spoke Shave - USERS L@@K!!
A part of Stanley's premier line of Spoke Shaves, the No. 84 has a 2 inch wide blade and an overall length of 11-1/2 inches.  This well stamped "Type AA" SWEETHEART example dates from 1923 to 1935 (last photo).  "No.84" is cast in the fence.  The No. 84 was offered for only 30 years (from 1905 to 1935) and is quite hard to find today..
It is in overall good vintage condition with no consequential damage of any type.  "Toolbox" dinging and scratching is very minimal with the original wood finish fully intact.  As you can see in the photos, the nickel plating has weakened over the years.  There is no rusting or consequential pitting (see photos).  Plenty of steel remains on the iron.
This "top of the line" Stanley precision spoke shave is eagerly sought by both the user and collector.  It is for delicate work where an extremely fine cut is desired and offers the user the tactile feel of boxwood.  The problem nowadays is that this shave has not been made in over 85 years and when you can find it, you almost always have to settle for a beat up one with a (often crude) hang hole in the handle.  A great "user"and a hard to find SWEETHEART example for the collector.  Buy It Now!
