Preferred in many cases over the low angle block plane when a steeper angle of attack is needed, often by rod makers and such. Also a wider cutter is nice if you tend to skew you cuts like I do. This one is in excellent user condition with all original Stanley parts and no cracks, bends or breaks. Just some sharpening and you're good to go...
