    Description

    Up for auction is a Stanley Bailey # 3 smooth bottom plane and it is a Type 17.  This type 17 does not have the frog adjusting screw, it is like the type 9, without
    those frog adjusting screws only made from 1946-47.  These were some of the oddball planes Stanley put together and do not always have the black painted tote
    and knob, and plastic adjusting wheel.  This was restored with a rosewood tote and knob that have no repairs or cracks, and they were refinished.  The base
    was rejapanned and is in good condition with no cracks to the iron.  The blade is a 3rd type SW iron and has been sharpened to 1500 grit, and still has much life
    in it.  The bottom has been flattened and has a few minor pits and scratches.
