Here I have up for auction is likely the nicest early Stanley #8 corrugated bottom jointer planes I have ever run across. This looks to be a type 11~(1911-1918). Most of the original bright shiny black japan paint remains, 3 patent dates cast behind the frog, adjustable frog screw, V trademark logo cutter, beautiful color solid rosewood rear handle and low front knob, all metal parts are clean and cutter would only require a very light honing to be put to use. You won't have to clean anything on this nice example, just hone the cutter and it will be ready to use for many years in your woodworking shop or add it to your vintage early Stanley plane collection with no apologies. No problems with this nice example. There is a couple of incidental tiny nicks in the corners of the lever cap but they are very minor and the cap is solid.
