Description
These are a set of 2 contemporary, Art Deco style Fiestaware ring handled mugs, in their cobalt blue glaze. These mugs are also referred to as "Tom and Jerry Mugs". Fiestaware began showing up on kitchen tables in 1936 and ended production in 1973, and then in 1986 began production again. Fiestaware is made in the USA by the Homer Laughlin Co., all in all, they've had a very interesting history, and make other lines of serving ware as well. These mugs are in wonderful, like new condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing or staining. This set of 2 mugs, are in a very clean state, and may have never been used. One of the mugs does have a handle that is a little cock-eyed (see the last picture # 10), but that doesn't take away from it's usefulness. Fiestaware is know for it's attractive colors and durability. I have it as my serving set, and in all the years that I've smacked it against sinks and counters, there have been no chips or cracks. The only fatality was a cereal bowl that I dropped on a porcelain floor. The mugs measure 3.5" in height and a bit more than 3.5" across the top opening. Fiestaware comes in a wide range of colors, and whether you're starting your collection, or adding to, their quality and performance can not be beat!
