SCARCE STANLEY #17 NICKEL TRIM BLOCK PLANE 7 INCH LENGTH W/ADJ. THROAT PAT. 1897

Here I have up for auction is a clean, solid and scarce Stanley #17 nickel trim 7 inch block plane with an adjustable throat. I believe this is a type 14~1901-1904. It has B casting on the bed, 1897 pat. cast onto the nickel plated lever cap near the adjuster, 1987 cast into the rear of the bed, 3 patent dates on the lateral adjuster. The sole, sides and all metal parts are very clean, the only apology is a chip out of the throat area. Bed retains good amount of orig. paint, much of the nickel remains on the lever cap with some missing mostly around the top edges. Good solid hard to find plane in clean condition. The early cutter would only need a light honing to be put to work. The lucky winner to pay ship costs. Sorry, no international shipping.
