    Description

    This block plane is in a transitional style, with the "coffin body" beech wood base topped by a black painted cast iron plane body.  It is stamped on one end  "Sargent VBM 3408" and it is about 8.25" long.  The blade is 1-5/8" wide and is marked Sargent BVM, New Haven, CT USA.  The plane weighs 2.5 pounds.  I haven't tried to clean it but it seems to be in good working order.  There is paint loss on the iron body.  I believe it is from the early 20th century. I plan to ship it unassembled to save space. It fits in a USPS medium flat rate box (.50) so if that is cheaper than what you are charged I will refund excess shipping.
