    SARGENT No. 407 (Stanley 2 Size) Plane - Outstanding Example of a SCARCE Plane!!
    BEAUTIFUL CONDITION with nice even dark patina on the exposed metal surfaces and wood.  Japanning is 99% intact with a deep dark sheen.  The original finish remains on the  "East Indian Mahogany" handle and knob which show only very very minimal "toolbox" dinging.   There is no rusting, pitting, chipping or dinging anywhere in the metal.  The throat is perfect.  The iron is near full length.  It is strongly marked with Sargent's "Type 5" (1942-1950) trade mark (last photo).  The lever cap has a "Type 4" (1919-1942) mark. So this plane was made in 1942??  (The 407 was discontinued in 1943.) It has been cleaned to high collector standards, leaving the patina intact and the brass NOT polished.  They don't get much better than this.  An OUTSTANDING Sargent No. 407 in EXCELLENT CONDITION.  Buy It NOW!!
