    Description

    Here we have a
RARE Antique 1700's "Unknown Maker", 'Flat Chamfers', Apple Wood 'Ogee' Molding Plane
    .
These long body (10-1/4") with 'Flat Chamfer-style' planes are very hard to find.  These have always been
    attributed
    to very early plane makers.
    Unfortunately
this one is not marked by the maker.
The plane body sole and mouth are in good used condition with some nicks and scratches. I see no cracks. There is a tiny abrasion mark on the left side of the toe of the plane body, and there is wear along the outside edges of the sole.
The wedge looks like an early replacement since it is made of oak. The cutting iron is in very good condition and sharp, but should be touched up before use. The profile cut would be approx. 1-1/8" wide.  Plane is approx. 10-1/4" L x 1-11/16" W. No owner stamps.
Time to get a Rare 18th Century plane !!
