Rapier No. 450 Smooth Plane

This Rapier No. 450 Smooth Plane was made in Gateshead, England.  I know basically very little about it, but for sure, it is heavy, weighing almost 5 pounds.  In my opinion, it appears the company that made it copied a lot of the later models of Stanley 4 1/2 planes.  It has similar major parts.  One difference is the lever cap.  This plane is great for collectors or users.  The handle on this plane has been very nicely repaired, as shown in the pictures. I find no cracks in the metal parts.  The photos will show you the overall condition of this plane.  Thanks for looking.
