    An extremely rare and exceptionally well preserved PRE-LATERAL FROG MECHANISM for a Sargent No. 424 twenty-four inch length jointer plane, "Type 1", by Sargent & Company, New Haven, Connecticut. Fully 95% of the original shiny black japan finish remains on this frog, which was used only on the very first series of planes produced by Sargent.
