    An ORIGINAL NICKEL PLATED LEVER CAP for a Montgomery Ward Master Qualtity No. 3 size smoothing plane by Montgomery Ward & Company. The Ward's Master Quality line was the highest quality offered by Montgomery Ward and the tools offered under this name were produced for them by Stanley. This 1 3/4 inch width cap is marked with the Ward's Master name in raised lettering inside a recessed rectangle on the face of the iron.
