    Description

Keen Kutter bench planes were made by The Stanley Company for the Simmons Tool Company, St. Louis, Missouri. U.S.A. This one is a real nice specimen, a quality tool. Used but well taken care of. I don't know very much more about Keen Kutter Tools but I have seen lots of them. Carpenter tools, farm tools etc. I know that their are collectors of Keen Kutter out there and I hope one of them would like to get their hands on this plane. I don't know the year of manufacture and I cannot vouch for it's authenticity but all the parts that make up a quality plane are there. It is very similar to Stanley's number four, but a bit heavier. It is 9" long and has a 2" wide blade. A real heavy blade. It's got E.C. Simmons, Keen Kutter and St. Louis stamped on the iron with KK4 cast on the toe. It's in very good shape and has nice rosewood handles. Japanning appears to be about 85% with some chips in the finish on the sole and frog. No gouges in the the metal or the beautiful wood handles. No rust. I will sell to highest bidder. United States sales ONLY.
