Here we have an '
EXTREMELY RARE' Antique, W.
GASKIN, ENGLAND Pair of Coachmaker Right & Left Hand Curved Cove Molding Planes
.
W. Gaskin of Willington, Derbyshire, England was a toolmaker and plane maker from 1851-1861.  His maker mark is on the toe of both planes.  His planes are rated as 'uncommon' and this 'unique profile' matched pair of molding planes is the RAREST of all !!  They are in Beautiful, 'little used' EXCELLENT condition !!  No cracks, chips or nicks !!  The profiles on the soles are EXCEPTIONAL !!   There is only very minor bruising on the wedges, and minor mallet tap marks on the heels.  The planes are 6"L x 1-3/4"W.  The
cutters are in Excellent condition and sharp.  There are no owners marks.
This pair of planes is in full Collector Condition and they belong in a 'top shelf' Coachmaker Collection !!
