Freud Jointer Plane Sizes To Stanley Bailey No 7 Vintage Made In USA Hand Plane.
This is a plane you don’t see very often. It’s a first for me so I can’t give any specifics to type or manufacturing period. But I will speak to what I see and feel.
This has a very thick casting. It doesn’t appear to be japanned but painted a gray/silverish.
It does not have a adjustable frog. Frog receiver is Y shaped and looks a lot like the Bailey version. Could be Stanley made this casting for Freud.
Lateral movement is smooth and the cutter appears to still have the factory edge. (Chip Free) Sharp
Plane is clean and all parts are free and operate smoothly.
