    Description

    A FOUNDER'S GRADE EARLY PATTERN 2 1/4 INCH WIDTH CUTTING IRON AND CHIP BREAKER for the Stanley No. 5 1/2 or 605 1/2 plane by Stanley. Early versions of the No. 5 1/2 and No. 605 1/2 series used this iron, which was unique those Stanley planes. The No. 5 1/2 was changed to use the 2 3/8" width iron used on the No. 4 1/2, 6 and 7 beginning in 1939. This very little used example is marked with the Sweetheart trademark used in the 1920's and is in essentially unused condition. As good as they get. Length = 7.88 Inches (Ref.
