Description
Once again I am selling a lot of two hand planes and for the same reason. Each of these planes have a problem in that they are missing a piece or a piece is broken, but together they would make one good plane, I think.Craftsman hand plane: 14" long base, 2" wide blade. The plane shows its age with well worn handles and some corrosion/rust that I doubt would interfere with its use but could easily be removed with a little work. Handles are solid and look nice, all adjustments move freely and work as they should. The only problem is that it is missing the part that bolts to the cutter and engages the height adjuster. I don't know the name of this piece, it is a flat, thin piece of steel with a special bolt that you tighten to the cutter before placing that whole assembly into the plane. Other than this missing piece the plane is in fair to good condition considering its age.
Stanley Hand Plane: 9 1/2" long from the front of the plane to the projection at the rear of the handle, probably called a 9" plane. It is also 2" wide. This handle plane is complete, in really good condition with the exception that the rear handle is broken in the middle. Someone before me tried to glue it together but it needs replaced. All adjustments work as they should.
I think that if you wanted to you could take the missing piece needed in the craftsman from the Stanley and have it working. Or you could just buy/make a handle for the Stanley and find a blade support for the Craftsman and have two good planes.
If you have questions just ask.

PLEASE NOTE: I made a mistake in the pictures above. I accidentally pt the wrong photos for the Stanley plane and now E-Bay won't let me correct them. The picture of the Stanley Plane in the first two photos is correct and the description is correct in that the Stanley Plane has a broken rear handle, etc. The Handyman is in another listing.
