Here we have a
Vintage Carriagemakers
FRUITWOOD Small 'Double-Compassed' Smooth Plane 1-1/4"W x 3-1/2"L
.
This small FRUITWOOD plane is in very good 'used tool' condition. There is no maker's name on the plane or the cutting iron.
The plane has a 'Coffin-shaped' body
.
T
he sole is double-compassed from toe to heel and from left to right.
The wedge is in very good condition with No cracks. The plane is fitted with a very good 7/8" wide steel cutter.
The thick cutter is sharp and mates very nicely with the front of the mouth.
There are no owner's marks.
No cracks or breaks.
