Here we have a
BIG ! Antique AUBURN TOOL CO., NY No. 61 Skew Blade PANEL RAISING PLANE 1864-1893.
Auburn Tool Co. were plane makers in Auburn, NY from 1864-1893.  The makers name in on the toe and "No. 61  3 INCH" is stamped on the heel.  This BIG plane is in very good 'used' condition !!  It has a few tight hairline age-related cracks (see pics)  It has a nicker blade and an adjustable brass depth stop.  No cracks or breaks in the tote. The large adjustable moving fence works as it should. The wedge for the cutting iron looks like an early replacement.  The cutting iron is sharp and came to me with the notch on the inside corner of the blade edge.  I left it like that since it appears to have been made purposefully ( you can see that the mouth matches this 'notch'). The cutting iron was made by A. HOWLAND & CO. NY and has a beehive logo.  This is a 'BIG & HEAVY' plane measuring 17"L x 4-1/2"W and weighs 7 lb. 10 oz. (unpacked!).  I offer FREE PICKUP !!
