Here we have a very nice and
RARE Antique FRENCH Coach Carriage Maker's 'Decorated' Squirrel Tail Trim Plane with Bone Sole.
This is just a beautiful plane !! It  has very 'French' like design.  This comes out of my Coachmaker's collection.  There is no makers mark on the plane but the iron is stamped 'HALBACH'.  The body and wedge are made from a very fine-grained hardwood.  Every surface of the body and wedge have a fine outline running along the edges !  The Bone sole has a stepped' profile with a built-in small fence. The cutting surface has a slight soft radius. The 'snecked' cutting iron is 3/16" wide.  The sole is 1-3/4" long.  Total plane length is approx. 6 in.  A GREAT one to add to your collection.  Surely this is one-of-a-kind !!
