Here we have an
Antique S. H. BIBIGHAUS, PHILA. Screw Arm Adjustable Sash Plane Molding Plane.
Samuel H. Bibighaus was a planemaker and hardware dealer in Philadelphia form 1840-1860. His maker mark is on the toe of the plane.  This is an 'ovolo' sash profile.  The plane is in Very Good 'used tool' condition.  The screw arm threads are in very good condition. The body has some age-related cracks in  the heel.  The two adjustable halves of the body line up as they should but there is a tiny bit of a bow at the toe and the heal as the wood aged over all these years (see pics).  The sole is in very good condition with nice boxwood inserts. It comes with two very good cutting irons made by W. Butcher, Sheffield.  The edges are sharp, but you should verify this before use. There are owner stamps on the toe and heel.   Nice plane to add to your collection of Philadelphia makers !  Or put it to use !
